The Office of the Commissioner for Government Examinations is responsible for conducting the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test and keeping track of all KTET applications for selecting school teachers in Kerala. This state-level competitive exam is organized to test whether candidates have suitable skills to teach Lower Primary, Upper Primary, and High School classes in Kerala schools. Pareeksha Bhavan in Kerala is given the implementation and organization responsibilities of the KTET exam. KTET Exam is held as per the rules and regulations laid down by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Kerala.
The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan sets the marking scheme and exam pattern of the Kerala Teaching Eligibility Test for all different categories of papers:

KTET Marking Scheme

The KTET Category 1 paper is conducted to recruit teachers for Lower Primary Classes, i.e., classes 1 to 5. All candidates must complete a total of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) asked in KTET Category 1 paper in 2 hours and 30 minutes. Each question carries 1 mark, and there is no negative marking for any wrong answer.

All candidates must complete a total of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) asked in KTET Category 2 paper in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
