Secondary education is the most important stage of school since it prepares students for higher education and the workforce. The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) encourages both quantitative and qualitative educational development and takes special efforts to eliminate gaps and equalize educational opportunities for all pupils. Through the National Talent Search Scheme, NCERT recognizes and praises students’ educational genius. It also aims to recognize creative eminence by awarding Chacha Nehru Scholarships for artistic and innovative achievement. Through the Bal Shree plan, the National Bal Bhawan established a system of honoring talented children of various ages in 1995.
