All the teachers must have heard about the basic school teaching certificate also known as BSTC. The Basic Teacher Course(BSTC) is a certification course with a 4-semester system completed in 2 years. The National Council of Teacher Education approved the BSTC, for this certificate teachers should have a good score in class 12th and a particular diploma should be done to pass the eligibility criteria. Entrance exams/interviews are held by NCTE to select qualified applicants with minimum qualification scores.

BSTC aims to train potential candidates to become successful teachers. The methods of the course are basic but essential for anyone wishing to pursue a career in teaching. After completing the Basic Teacher Course, one is more likely to be hired by government schools. The admissions process for the Basic Teacher Course can vary from college to college. This process is based on the merit list. An entrance exam is held by NCTE with some rules. An interview process is also followed after the exam.

Holders of a bachelor’s degree can also apply for the course. The age of the candidate must be over 18 years old and not more than 30 years. Good teaching skills will be a plus point.
