One such entrance test that future candidates must be aware of is the CAG exam conducted by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. Who can apply for the CAG exam?
Candidates have to fulfil both an age limit and a CAG educational qualification to apply for the test.

What is the CAG exam pattern and exam syllabus?
As the CAG full form suggests the auditor and accountant exam deals with only one topic of financial accounting. This multiple choice question paper has a duration of 120 minutes within which the candidate must answer 100 questions for a total of 200 marks. Each wrong answer allots a negative score of 0.25 marks.
The CAG exam syllabus is fairly straightforward with questions from topics such as financial accounting, the Indian economy, economic reforms in India, basic microeconomics, the theory of demand and supply and last but not least the theory of production and cost. The basic pay scale of an auditor allotted under CAG will be in the level -5 pay scale matrix. This means one can expect an auditor’s salary to be ranging from rupees 29,200 to rupees 92,300 approximately.
