The Central University of Kerala (CUK) is one of the 15 central universities created by the Indian government under the Central Universities Act. Central University of Kerala is located in the Kasaragod district of Kerala, India’s northernmost district. The postgraduate program is divided into four semesters. Each semester lasts 16–18 weeks, with 5 working days and 30 hours of instruction per week. The programs follow a Choice Based Credit and Semester (CBCS) structure. Core courses are designated by each department and provide a comprehensive foundation in the subject of study; elective courses are chosen by students in conjunction with their Faculty Advisor.

In addition, each student completes a Dissertation/Project that focuses on applying knowledge to real-world situations. A total of 72 credits must be completed in four semesters for a PG program to be completed successfully. A public speaking student must get a least of 48 but no more than 60 credits for Core courses, including the Dissertation, and a minimum of 12 but no more than 24 credits for Elective courses, out of a total of 72 credits.
