GPAT stands for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test. It is an annual all‑India examination on computer-based test mode only that is conducted by the National Testing Agency for the evaluation of candidates for the admission of Pharmacy graduates into the Master’s programs called M. Pharm. Up until 2018 it used to be conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The results of GPAT are also used for the determination of eligibility of students for scholarships and other financial assistance.

The pattern and syllabus of question papers remain the same under the NTA. There is no increase in the exam fees being as of now, which includes around 70 pages of the syllabus that comprise all of the subjects that are included in all the years of the B. Pharm course. As per the GPAT exam pattern 2022, the exam will have a hundred and twenty-five multiple-choice questions coming from Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology subject, and so on and so forth. The time duration for the GPAT exam is 3 hours beyond which no extra time will be given. According to the exam pattern of the GPAT exam, four marks will be given for correct answers and one mark will be deducted for incorrect responses. After the exam is over, the GPAT answer key will be released by the NTA mentioning the answers to the questions in the exam. With the help of the GPAT answer key, candidates can calculate the marks they might have obtained in the exam.
