VYAPAM stands for Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal. It is the acronym for the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB). It is an autonomous and self-financed body incorporated by the state government of Madhya Pradesh.

VYAPAM is responsible for conducting a wide range of professional entrance tests and exams. These exams are essential for students to acquire admission in some of the state’s most competitive and prestigious colleges. Various state-level professional jobs also recruit candidates through these CTET entrance exams.
VYAPAM was initially set up to conduct medical entrance tests in the state in 1970. However, after 1981, the Engineering Entrance Test board was set up, and later these boards were merged to be known as the Professional Examination Board (PEB).
VYAPAM that comes under the Directorate of Technical Education, Madhya Pradesh, is also the state’s largest government professional examination body.

- Management Entrance Test (MET)
- Pre-Medical Test (PMT)
- Pre-Ayurvedic Homeopathic & Unani Test (P.A.H.U.T)
- Pre-Polytechnic Test (PPT)
- Pre-Agriculture Test (PAT)
- Pre-M.C.A. Test
- Pre-BEd Test
It is said that this state board conducts approximately 30 entrance exams all around the year. Every year about 20 lakh candidates appear for the entrance exams and tests conducted by the board.
