The exam is held at two levels, i.e., Paper I and Paper II, as per the NCTE guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria For Assam TET 2021
Before submitting the online application form for the exam, all candidates must check the eligibility criteria. If any candidate fails to fulfill even a single eligibility criterion and has applied for the exam, their application will be rejected or disqualified. In such cases, the application fee will not be refunded to the ineligible candidate.
Educational Qualification for Lower Primary Teachers
All appearing aspirants must have qualified 12th class or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks along with any one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Elementary Education or B.El.Ed (4 years)
- Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years)
- Diploma in Education (Special Education, two years)
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
- Graduate in any discipline along with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
Educational Qualification for Upper Primary Teachers
All appearing aspirants must have any one of the following qualifications:
- Graduate along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
- Passed Senior Secondary or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
- Finished Senior Secondary with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed. Or BA.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
- Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks with a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)
Assam TET 2021 Syllabus
The Assam TET syllabus is designated by the Department of Elementary Education, Assam. Listed below is the section-wise syllabus for the Assam TET Paper I and Paper II.
Section 1: Child Development and Pedagogy
Section 2: Language I
Appearing applicants have to choose one language for Section 2. The different languages from which candidates can choose are:
- Assamese
- Bengali
- Hindi
- Bodo
- Nepali
- Garo
- Manipuri
- Hmar
- Karbi
Section 3: Language-2 (English)
Section 4: Mathematics
Section 5: EVS/ Science/Social Science
Assam TET 2021: Exam Pattern
The Assam TET 2021 exam comprises two papers. Individuals who want to take the position of Lower Primary level teacher (classes I to V) need to appear for Paper 1. Paper 2 is for candidates who aspire to become Upper Primary level teachers (classes VI to VIII).
- Language: Bengali, Assamese, Bodo, English, and Hindi.
- Duration: Two and a half hours for each paper.
- Type of questions: Objective type only.
- Total questions: 150 questions in each paper.
- Marking scheme: Every correct answer will receive one mark. There will be no negative marking.
