UTET or Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by the Uttarakhand Board of Secondary education (UBSE) to check the eligibility of the applicants looking forward to getting recruited for teaching posts in public and private schools across the state of Uttarakhand.

UTET is an eligibility exam, which allows the recruitment body to test aspirants who wish to pursue teaching professions. The exam comprises two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The first paper is for the applicants who want to become primary classes teachers (Grade 1 to 5), and Paper 2 is for candidates who wish to teach upper primary classes (6 to 8 standard).
All qualified candidates receive a TET Eligibility Certificate that has lifetime validity. The eligibility certificate enables candidates to apply for teaching positions in both public and private schools.
UTET 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Uttarakhand Board of Secondary education, the exam conducting body, has laid down specific eligibility criteria for the aspirants. Applicants must go through all eligibility criteria carefully to evade consequences like termination of application or disqualification.
Age: Applying aspirants shall not be more than 38 years and must be at least 18 years old.
Educational qualification: For Paper 1 and Paper 2
- Paper 1 (Class 1 to 5)
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks.
- Applicants must have qualified 12th with at least 45 percent marks and undergone training in elementary education for two years as per the National Teacher Education Council.
- Must have passed Higher Secondary with at least 50 percent marks and a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.Ed/BTC) of two years.
- The candidate must be a Shiksha Mitra personnel and a 2-year Diploma (D.El.Ed) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
- Paper 2 (Class 6 to 8)
- Must be a B.Ed. graduate with a minimum of 45 percent marks in the final examination as per the NTEC guidelines.
- Must have finished graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50 percent marks along with a B. Ed. degree.
- Qualified SSC or equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent marks along with a four year long Bachelor degree in education or BA Ed/BSc Ed.

UTET Exam Fees
For candidates belonging to the General/OBC category, the application fee is Rs 600 for only one paper and Rs 1000 for two papers. For candidates falling under the SC/ST/PWD category, the application fee is Rs 300 for only one paper and Rs 500 for Paper 1 and Paper 2.
