What is NTA HTET?
The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test, popularly known as the HTET, is an eligibility test conducted to review and qualify candidates who aspire to become teachers. This test is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Haryana.
It is a state-level test conducted once every year. The exam duration is 180 minutes, and it is conducted in the offline mode. The exam-conducting body allows candidates to write the test in two languages, i.e., English and Hindi.
This state-level test is held at different levels for recruiting teachers to teach at the schools run by the state government of Haryana. The different test levels can be classified as:
- Primary teacher
- Trained graduate teacher
- Post graduate teacher
What is an HTET Certificate, and How to Receive it?
The HTET is conducted in the form of a written test, and those candidates who qualify and get the eligible marks in the test will receive a certificate from the HTET board. This certificate is the HTET certificate or the TET certificate.
To receive the certificate, one must simply get the qualifying marks in their respective test as stated by the conducting board.
HTET Certification Procedure
The procedure for the HTET certificate is divided into three main parts:
- Application
Candidates interested in appearing for the test can apply for the test from the official website.
- Admit Card
After candidates fill out the application form with their preferences and information, they will receive the admit card almost a week before the exam, which will convey the eligibility to write the test.
- Selection Procedure
Then, a candidate appears for the test, and their attempt is evaluated. If the candidate scores the required marks to qualify, they will be awarded the HTET certificate. This certificate can be used to apply for teacher jobs in Haryana when the state government announces vacancies.
The test is conducted for a maximum of 150 marks, and 60% is the minimum mark to qualify for the test and get the HTET certificate.
HTET Certification Validity
Previously, once the HTET certificate was received, it had a validity of five years. The government of Haryana recently extended the validity of the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test certificate to seven years. This rule will be applied to all candidates who applied for the test, qualified, and are yet to join as teachers in the Haryana state government schools.
HTET Eligibility Criteria
For a candidate to be eligible to write the test, the candidate must fulfill the following criteria:
- Age
To write the HTET test, a candidate must be over the age of 18. The maximum age limit to take the test is 38 years.
- Educational Qualifications
