IIIT Full Form
IIIT full form stands for Indian Institute of Information Technology.
An Indian Institute of Information Technology is a name used to refer to a group of twenty-five interdisciplinary technology-based-engineering research institutions situated in India that are focused on the subject of information technology. Five of these Institutes of National Importance (INI) IIITs are established, funded, and managed by the Ministry of Education (MOE) while the other twenty are set up on the PPP model or the public-private partnership model, funded by the government of India, state governments, and industry partners in a ratio of 50:35:15.
The Union Cabinet approved a scheme for setting up twenty IIITs after the first. As of 2014, 23 proposals were made by the following 21 states

- Jharkhand
- Karnataka
- Kerala
- Madhya Pradesh
- Maharashtra

Out of these, a total of 16 proposals were approved

In addition to these, in 2015, the MHRD approved an IIIT twice again in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and Ranchi, Jharkhand. An IIIT was approved in Bhagalpur in 2016, and finally, to close the list of 20 IIITs, one in Surat, Gujarat was approved and set up in 2017.
