Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test is the full form of KTET. Kerala State Education Board (KSEB) conducts KTET to select applicants for teaching positions in lower primary, upper primary, and high schools in Kerala. The Kerala government created the KTET exam to enhance and implement new standards into the teaching profession. This is a state-level examination conducted in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education’s norms and regulations (NCTE). The authorities can use this test to determine whether or not instructors are qualified to teach in government schools in Kerala.
KTET Answer Key 2021 is now available to download from the official website. It consists of four different tests for appointing teachers in four categories. According to the KTET official website, separate exams will be held for the selection of teachers in the categories of,
- Category-I (Lower Primary Teachers)
- Category-II (Upper Primary Teachers)
- Category-III (High School Teachers)
- and Category-IV (Language Teachers such as Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, etc., Specialist teachers for Art & Craft, and Physical Education Teachers)
KTET Application
- Go to KTET official website – ktet.kerala.gov.in
- Click on New Registration.
- You will be directed to another page. After carefully reading the directions, tick all checkboxes.
- Fill in all of the details, including your complete name, address, age, date of birth, gender, caste, religion, contact number, email address, educational qualification, and other relevant information.
- Next, submit scanned copies of the personal, professional, and academic papers.
- Upload a passport-sized image and a scanned copy of your signature. The format and size of the document should follow the guidelines provided by the authorities.
Eligibility Criteria for KTET in 2021
To be a government school teacher in Kerala, you must ensure that you fulfill all of the KTET eligibility criteria. You can only apply for the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test 2021 if you satisfy all of the requirements listed. All significant aspects of the KTET eligibility criteria of 2021 are listed below.
Category I Eligibility
To be eligible for Category I, you must be at least 18 years old.
The candidate must have received a minimum of 45 percent in a higher secondary, senior secondary or comparable test. Candidates must have a 2-year Trained Teachers Certificate from the Kerala Government Board of Examinations or equivalent.
Or
The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or similar and have completed an upper secondary or senior secondary or comparable examination with at least 50% marks.
Or
The applicant must have a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education and a minimum of 45 percent in the senior secondary or comparable test.
Or
The candidate having a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) and a minimum of 50% marks in the upper secondary or senior secondary or comparable exam can apply.
Category II Eligibility
An applicant having a Bachelor’s Degree in any field and a two-year Kerala Government Elementary Education Diploma or Trained Teachers Certificate, or equivalent.
Or
An applicant having a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 40% and a one-year B.Ed. Credential.
Or
A candidate must have a minimum of 50% in the upper secondary, senior secondary, or equivalent examination, as well as a four-year BA degree/B.Sc.Ed./Ed.
Category III Eligibility
For the KTET test, a candidate must have a BA/B.Sc./B.Com. with a minimum of 45 percent marks, as well as a B.Ed. Degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.
Or
Those holding an M.Sc. degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized institute will be eligible for teaching the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, and can hence take KTET-3.
Or
Candidates who have completed the LTTC and have a BA or equivalent with a minimum of 45 percent are eligible to apply.
Category IV Eligibility
Candidates who have earned a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in teaching any topic and have been approved by Universities, NCTE, Boards of Examinations, or the Kerala Government can apply for KTET- IV.
Admit Card for KTET 2021
Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website of KTET before the deadline (Date yet to be announced). Candidates must input their application number, application ID, and category to download the KTET 2021 admission card.
KTET 2021 – Exam Pattern
Candidates must have a thorough understanding of the KTET 2021 test pattern. It will be taken in a paper-and-pencil format. The test will consist of three papers. Objective-type, multiple-choice questions are asked in all three KTET 2021 test papers.
Marking Scheme: A total of 150 points are awarded for all three papers. There is only one mark for each question, and there are no penalties for answering incorrectly (no negative marking). The exam pattern of all three KTET papers will be the same. The substance of each paper, however, will change.
Cut-Off Marks for the KTET 2021 Exam
To give you an idea of what to expect, the projected KTET cut-off for 2021 for all categories can be 82 (based on last year’s cut-off). It should be noted that the final KTET Cut Off 2021 will only be announced after the answer key.
KTET 2021 Result
Candidates who pass the KTET examination will be hired as teachers by the Kerala government. To pass the KTET 2021 exam, candidates must get a minimum score of 60%. The minimum cut-off varies every year. Applicants in the SC, ST, and OBC categories must score 55 percent, while PWD candidates must get 75 percent.
