NEET stands for National Eligibility Entrance Test. NEET is a national-level exam, conducted by NTA, which is the National Testing Agency. It is conducted in 13 languages. NEET is conducted for undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
After clearing the exam, candidates can take admission to medical and dental colleges across India. The National Eligibility Entrance Test is held annually for admission to 542 medical, 313 dental, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc and AH colleges across India.
There is no upper age limit to appear for the exam, however, a candidate must be at least 17 years of age. There are no restrictions on the number of attempts as well. Candidates can appear for the test as many times as they want.
The National Medical Commission or the NMC provides the syllabus for NEET-UG for all aspiring candidates. The syllabus includes topics from the 11th and 12th curricula of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The syllabus is designed taking into consideration the syllabus of state boards, CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, COBSE of Class 11 and 12.
A large number of candidates appear for the exam, so it is advisable to start preparing for it early. Have a routine in place and consider studying from various study materials you can get your hands on.
