NTSE Syllabus
The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is one of the most well-known and prestigious scholarship exams in India today. The aim of this examination, which is conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), is to identify talented students across the country and award them with a scholarship program to pursue their further studies.
The students are selected after a two-tier examination process – Stage 1 and Stage 2. Only students who have cleared the Stage 1 exams will be qualified to appear for the stage 2 exam. Students need to prepare really hard for the exam because it is extremely competitive. They should also be completely familiar with the NTSE syllabus in order to score great marks in the exam.
Stage 1 is conducted across different states and union territories in India by the respective states themselves. Stage 1 is a state-level examination.
Stage 2 is conducted by the NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) and is a national-level examination.
The questions asked in the NTSE exam are multiple-choice questions and is divided into two sections:
- Mental Ability Test – Testing the student’s problem solving and reasoning skills
- Scholastic Aptitude Test – Consists of 150 questions that covers Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and English Language
The NTSE syllabus is one of the most important components you need to look into before even starting to prepare for the exam. The syllabus for the exam is provided so that students can prepare for the exam in a more holistic way. It is conducted for students who are currently in Class 10. Only 10th standard students who are below the age of 18 years are eligible to appear for the NTSE exam.
