What is Memory?
Memory is the act of absorbing information from our surroundings, processing it, storing it, and recalling it later, often years later. The ability to think about events that may occur in the future is also linked to both navigation and autobiographical memory. One of the memory categories that make up your ability to process and recall what you see is such memory. It is a short-term memory precursor that allows you to process and recall the experiences you encounter. There are five different types of sensory memory because there are five senses. However, there are several properties that all forms of sensory memory share.

These traits hold true regardless of whether sense is employed or which area of the brain is responsible for memory processing. To begin with, it does not necessitate your full concentration. It’s entirely automated. Without you having to think about it or do anything consciously, your brain takes in the information offered by your senses and processes it.
Only the area of the brain connected with the sense that provided the information is used to store such memory. Auditory sensory memory, for example, will only be processed or retained by the region of the brain that deals with hearing.
