The story 1s entertaining., The peddler unexpectedly steals the, crofter's money Consequently, he, has to enter a wood. He is trapped, there. But, anyhow, he reaches the, forge. The ironmaster mistakingly, takes him as his old friend. His and, his daughter's persuasions bring, , him their home till Christmas. Next, day, he ils refuked for deception., But Miss Edla's kind gestures, , bind him there till Christmas. The, following day, the ironmaster and, Edla come to know his reality. But, he redeems himself by behaving, like Captain vo Stahle The story is, philosophical. The philosophy is, , that this world is a trap. Its materi, things are a bait. And we are to, redeem ourselves. The 30 kronor's, bait leads the peddler trapped in, the wood and in the ironmaster's, house. But he finally redeems, , himself

4).. What made the peddler finally, change his ways? Ans. The fact, that he was treated most kindly and, sympathetically by Edla changed, the peddler's heart. He was full of, gratitude to the lady for her kind, acts towards him. Had he behaved, like a thief, it would have shocked, her benefactor, Edla, , 5)Q. 2.
