India has extended her support and cooperation to the UN by taking part in its, different activities., 2. The UN has helped India in running different welfare programmes in India, for women and children., 3. The division of the world into two military groups was a threat to the world, peace, so India sought to start the Non-aligned Movement., 4. By NAM is meant the Non-aligned Movement for keeping equal distance, from the two military groups., 5. The main objectives of the NAM include to keep non-aligned countries away, from the military blocs, to develop and maintain friendship with all nations of, the world, to solve the problems of illiteracy, poverty, diseases and other, problems afflicting the world, to help one another in trade and commerce and, in the betterment of economic condition, and to cooperate with one another in, welfare and development programmes.
